
Park Ji Hyun is set to star alongside Lee Jong Suk for the first time in the upcoming drama Paradise (literal translation).
IZE Magazine reported on July 16th that Park has landed the female lead role in the new series written by Kim Soo Jin.
Paradise tells the story of reporter Kang Chi Young, who uncovers hidden secrets after becoming caught up in an unexpected incident, and police officer Cha Jung Won. Lee will play the reporter, while Park will play the police officer. Together, they set out to uncover the truth behind the case.
Park has proven her versatility through a wide range of roles. She has starred in Reborn Rich, Flex X Cop, Yumi’s Cells, You and Everything Else, as well as the films Wild Sing, FORBIDDEN FAIRYTALE, and Hidden Face, which earned her the Best Supporting Actress award at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards. With her strong acting range, many are looking forward to seeing her bring Cha Jung Won to life.
Acting opposite her is Lee Jong Suk, one of Korea’s most reliable leading actors, known for his hit projects including Big Mouth, While You Were Sleeping and The Witch: Part 2. The Other One. K-drama fans are already eager to see the chemistry between the two stars.
This casting news comes during a major career upswing for Park. In addition to Paradise, she has also been confirmed to star in Love Cloud, marking her second collaboration with Song Joong Ki following Reborn Rich.
With back-to-back high-profile projects, Park is quickly cementing her status as one of the industry’s most sought-after leading actresses.
