Song Joong Ki and Park Ji Hyun‘s upcoming KBS weekend series Love Cloud is set to air in 2027.
The drama follows Kang Woo Joo (played by Song Joong Ki), an air traffic controller who can see his ex’s emotions as weather, and Ahn Ha Nee (Park Ji Hyun), a pilot cursed with the power to change the weather through her feelings.
Song plays Kang Woo Joo, a former flight instructor turned air traffic controller. Once known as “Mad Captain” for his intimidating presence, he leaves the cockpit behind and starts over in Jeju with no ties. At work, he is the ace of the control tower, known for his quick judgment and fluent English. Off the clock, he spends his time watching clouds.
His quiet life changes when Ahn Ha Nee appears like a bolt from the blue, pulling his life back off course and stirring up emotions he thought were long gone.
“When I first read the script, I found the idea of Ha Nee’s emotions being connected to the clouds really intriguing,” Song said. “I’m happy to be working with Ji Hyun again, and I think we’ll be able to show great synergy this time as well.”
He added that it was meaningful to work with director Song Min Yeop, whose drama Youth of May he admired, and said he would do his best to bring the show’s charm to viewers.
Park plays Ahn Ha Nee, a career-focused pilot whose emotions suddenly begin changing the weather after an unexpected accident. A workaholic determined to earn a promotion, she takes on even the assignments others avoid. But her world is thrown further into chaos when she reunites with her ex-boyfriend Kang Woo Joo, stirring up feelings she had buried deep.
“While reading the script, I laughed, cried and stayed completely immersed,” Park said. “I’ll do my best to grow with Ahn Ha Nee and bring viewers a heart-fluttering, feel-good romance.”
Love Cloud is scheduled to air in 2027.
