Choi Hwa Jung has revealed a special gift from Song Joong Ki and his wife, Katy Louise Saunders, offering a glimpse into their family life in Italy.
Choi shared a video on her YouTube channel on October 15th. In the video, Choi discussed her diet and shared several recipes using Greek yogurt. While preparing Turkish eggs, she revealed that the olive oil she was using was a gift from Song Joong Ki.
“This is a gift from Song Joong Ki,” she said. “He told me it was olive oil from the first harvest he and his wife did together in Italy. They picked the olives themselves. It’s so precious.”
The bottle’s packaging featured a drawing of two children climbing a ladder, which Choi said represented Song Joong Ki’s two children.
“These little ones here are their babies,” she explained. “It’s so precious that I only use it on an empty stomach. I’m saving it for a special occasion, so I’ll use it today. The aroma is different.”
Song Joong Ki married British actress Katy Louise Saunders in 2023 and announced at the time that they were expecting their first child. The couple welcomed a son later that year and a daughter in Rome, Italy, in November 2024.
At the time, Song shared the happy news on his fan cafe, writing, “I’m currently in Rome. It’s been just over a year since I met my first child here, and now, thankfully, I’ve welcomed another beautiful baby. A beautiful princess was born healthy.”
Since becoming a father of two, Song has occasionally shared glimpses of his family life. He was previously spotted out with his wife and a stroller, and during interviews for his film Bogota, he showed reporters a photo of his daughter.
“Look how she turned out. I’m getting sentimental,” he said, showing his affection for his children.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki appeared on the October 15th episode of SBS’s Maestro Jang and revealed that the massive success of the film The King’s Warden, which drew 16.93 million moviegoers, had changed the way he treated Jang Hang Jun.
The show featured celebrities talking about director Jang Hang Jun in humorous segments.
Song said, “There are times when I hesitate to call him. Before I knew it, I’d started answering his calls with both hands. I used to be like, ‘Yes, Hang Jun!’ But these days, I answer politely with both hands.” He then acted out how he now answers the phone.
