A unit at Eterno Cheongdam, the ultra-luxury apartment complex known as the home of stars like IU and Song Joong Ki, has reportedly sold for a record-breaking 21.8 billion won (approximately $14.5 million).

According to South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport transaction records released May 19th, a 231㎡ unit on the 10th floor of Eterno Cheongdam changed hands on May 15th.

The deal marks the first resale transaction at the building since residents officially began moving in back in January 2024.

Industry insiders reportedly believe the sale may have been rushed ahead of the end of a temporary tax policy affecting owners of multiple homes. Since land transaction approval procedures in the area can take around two weeks, experts estimate the application process likely began in late April or early May.

The sale also marks the first apartment transaction in Korea this year to surpass the 20 billion won threshold.

Eterno Cheongdam has become widely known as one of the country’s most exclusive residential properties and has ranked No. 1 in official apartment value assessments for two consecutive years.

According to the government’s 2026 public housing price proposal, the building’s 464㎡ unit was valued at 32.57 billion won, making it the highest-priced apartment unit in the country among roughly 15.85 million homes.
