IU, Changmin of TVXQ, actresses Han Ji Min and Kim Go Eun, and more stars celebrated Children’s Day by giving back through a series of heartfelt donations.
On May 5th, IU donated 50 million won ($34,000) to the Korean Association of Child Welfare. Making the gesture even more meaningful, she donated under the name “IUaena,” a combination of her stage name and her fan club name, Uaena.
Kim Go Eun also donated 50 million won to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital to support children from low-income families receiving treatment. The actress has reportedly continued her donations for six consecutive years since 2021, offering support to children in urgent need of medical care.
Han Ji Min likewise shared a warm contribution, donating 50 million won to the international relief organization JTS (Join Together Society). Her donation will go toward fighting child hunger and providing educational opportunities for children around the world.
K-pop stars also joined the wave of giving. Samsung Medical Center revealed that TVXQ member Changmin donated 55 million won to help cover treatment costs for financially vulnerable children and teenage patients.
Super Junior member Ryeowook donated 100 million won to international development NGO G Foundation to support underprivileged children in Korea. The donation will be split evenly between children at risk of missing meals and children living in orphanages.
RIIZE also donated 30 million won to G Foundation under the name of their official fan club, BRIIZE. The donation will go toward the organization’s “May Daddy-Long-Legs” gift box campaign, which plans to deliver meaningful gifts to 540 children living in orphanages.
