Cho Bo Ah has joined the upcoming drama An Obedient Killer (literal translation) after Lee Chung Ah stepped down from the project following a traffic accident.
My Daily reported on October 2nd that Cho Bo Ah has officially been cast in the drama and is preparing to begin filming.
Cho Bo Ah will play Hwa Ra, also known by her codename Miss Lee. Her character has a sophisticated short haircut and wears sharply tailored monochrome suits. She speaks in a calm, dry tone and rarely shows emotion.
Hwa Ra is a woman who has trained both her body and mind to reach the top. She has little interest in conventional ideas of romance and refuses to embrace what she considers a “soft” kind of love.
The role was originally given to Lee Chung Ah, who had already completed several filming sessions. However, she was involved in a traffic accident in August and suffered a back injury that made it difficult for her to continue filming.
The production team initially planned to wait for Lee Chung Ah to recover. However, she was recently advised to limit her physical activity for more than six weeks, making it difficult for her to remain with the project. The production team then began looking for a replacement and ultimately cast Cho Bo Ah.
Cho Bo Ah married in October 2024 and welcomed a son in February. After taking time to rest and recover, she has reportedly regained her strength through regular exercise and is preparing to begin filming.
An Obedient Killer follows a woman whose original plan in life was to become a devoted wife and mother. When circumstances force her to take a job outside that plan, her life takes an unexpected turn. Set in the 1970s and 1980s, the drama is described as a romance with noir elements.
