Kim Hye Yoon is in talks to star as the female lead in tvN’s upcoming drama Iseop’s Romance.

The actress’s agency said on October 1st, “It is true that she received an offer to appear in Iseop’s Romance, but her casting has not been confirmed.”

If she signs on, Kim would play Kang Min Kyung opposite Hwang Min Hyun, who is currently in talks for the male lead role of Tae I Seop. Hwang’s agency previously said the drama is one of the projects he has been offered and that nothing has been finalized.

The project has undergone a major casting reshuffle in recent weeks. Lee Jong Suk had originally been preparing to play the male lead but stepped down after changes to the production and filming schedule conflicted with his other commitments. Choi Yoon Ji, who had been confirmed as Kang Min Kyung, later exited for similar reasons.

Based on Kim Eon Hee’s web novel of the same name, Iseop’s Romance follows Tae I Seop, a third-generation chaebol heir who excels at virtually everything except love, and Kang Min Kyung, a highly capable employee known as TK Group’s “secret weapon.” I Seop’s carefully ordered life begins to shift when Min Kyung becomes the first person to make him experience coming in second.

The drama also shares a universe with another upcoming adaptation of Kim’s work, A Casual Lie, which centers on Tae I Seop’s cousin Tae Jun Seop and has Lee Jun Hyuk attached to star. The two series tell separate stories but are connected through TK Group and their respective leads.

Iseop’s Romance is expected to begin production this year and premiere in 2027.
