Netflix has unveiled new teaser posters and a trailer for its upcoming crime thriller The Blue Road, starring Son Suk Ku and Eita Nagayama as detectives investigating a series of gruesome murders across South Korea and Japan.
Directed by Han Jun Hee, the series follows two detectives whose investigations become intertwined after bodies with twisted limbs and mysterious messages are discovered in both countries.
Following the premiere of its first three episodes at the 31st Busan International Film Festival, The Blue Road drew positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Critics called it “a rare, old-school hard-boiled thriller” and praised the chemistry between its Korean and Japanese leads, while viewers described it as “director Han Jun Hee’s best work yet,” applauding the performances, cinematography and sound design.
The newly released posters feature Kim Seok (Son Suk Ku), a detective with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and Inose (Eita Nagayama), a detective with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.
The posters carry contrasting messages from the two characters. Kim Seok’s reads, “The killer has returned,” while Inose declares, “I’ll catch the perp too.” With sweat running down Kim’s face and blood splattered across Inose’s, the images hint at the detectives’ differing personalities and the uneasy partnership ahead.

The teaser opens with Kim Seok learning of a murder in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district while Inose heads to the crime scene. The investigation takes an international turn when Kim reveals that a similar murder recently occurred in South Korea.
“A similar murder took place in Korea recently,” Kim says, as the trailer shows mysterious messages written in Korean and Japanese at the crime scenes.
Tensions between the detectives emerge when Kim identifies the suspect as Japanese during a briefing, prompting a guarded reaction from Inose.
The trailer also introduces Lee Yoon Ok (Kim Shin Rock), an influential figure in Japan’s pachinko industry, who asks, “An eyewitness. You’re dying to know, aren’t you?” Her possible connection to the murders adds another layer to the mystery.
The footage also features intense hand-to-hand combat involving both detectives and a high-speed car chase through Hong Kong, offering a glimpse of the series’ action-heavy investigation.
The Blue Road premieres exclusively on Netflix on November 20th.
