Park Bo Young and Son Suk Ku are teaming up for a romantic comedy.

According to OSEN on July 8th, Park and Son will star in If I’m With You (working title), the new film from director Kang Hyoung Chul.

If I’m With You is described as a fantasy romantic comedy about Korean and international characters on a cruise ship. The film marks the latest project from Kang, who directed Scandal Makers, Sunny, Swing Kids and Hi-Five. Sidus is producing, with NEW handling investment and distribution.

The project also marks Park’s reunion with Kang 18 years after the hit film Scandal Makers, which drew 8.22 million moviegoers in 2008. The movie was Kang’s feature directorial debut and Park’s first major box office success, making the reunion especially meaningful for both.

The pairing of Park and Son as the leads of a fantasy rom-com is also drawing attention. This will be the first time the two actors share the screen, making the unexpected combination all the more intriguing.

Son has mostly shown a darker, more intense and masculine side through projects such as the 10-million-admission hit The Roundup, A Killer Paradox, D.P. and My Liberation Notes. With Son now starring opposite Park, often known for her lovable charm, viewers are curious to see what kind of chemistry and fresh appeal the two will bring.

Park recently appeared in the Disney+ series Gold Land, while Son is awaiting the release of the Netflix series Road (working title).
