“I was curious why you cast me.”
T.O.P reportedly first reached out to Nana for his solo music project, casting her as the female lead in the music video for his title track “Absolutely Crazy!”
“I thought you suited the role best,” T.O.P reportedly told her.
Now, the two have reportedly taken their relationship beyond the music video. Their connection began while working together in January and reportedly turned romantic in June. Dispatch reported that the pair has been spending time together in Guri, just outside Seoul, particularly around Achul Village, an area known to be near Nana’s home.
Despite their busy schedules, T.O.P and Nana have reportedly made time for each other.
T.O.P is currently on his first solo tour in 20 years, with stops in six cities across Asia. Nana recently starred in Netflix’s The Scandal and is preparing for her next acting project.
Their schedules have not stopped them from seeing each other. Shortly before Nana left for Milan Fashion Week on September 24th, the two reportedly spent time together in Achul Village.
Their dates have reportedly been low-key. They have been seen taking taxis and stopping by convenience stores. T.O.P wore a hat but did not cover his face, while Nana wore a mask that covered only her mouth. The two appeared relaxed despite being out in public.
Dispatch reported that they were spotted together on September 30th and October 1st. T.O.P reportedly visited Achul Village frequently, using his agency’s car for official schedules and taxis when meeting Nana.
The two first met in January while working on the music video for “Absolutely Crazy!” (Studio54) (literal translation), one of the double title tracks from T.O.P’s first full-length solo album, DOOMFUL DATE.
They worked together again in April when Nana appeared in promotional content for one of T.O.P’s new songs on YouTube. At the time, they reportedly remained somewhat formal with each other.
That changed as they kept in touch.
An acquaintance close to the pair told Dispatch, “They realized they had a lot in common. They stayed in contact after that and began dating seriously around June.”
T.O.P and Nana have several things in common. T.O.P was a member of BIGBANG, while Nana was part of After School. Both rose to fame as second-generation K-pop idols during the 2010s.
They also share a similar approach to fashion, with both known for developing distinctive styles and experimenting with their looks. Both have also transitioned from idol careers into acting.
“They have followed similar paths, from their debuts and careers to dealing with rumors and personal struggles,” an acquaintance said. “They understand each other well and are both working hard to balance their relationship and their careers.”
Meanwhile, T.O.P resumed his acting career with Netflix’s Squid Game 2. He also returned to music in April, releasing his first solo album and personally producing all 11 tracks.
Nana released a solo album last year and recently released a birthday fan song. She has also continued to build her acting career with roles in Mask Girl and The Scandal.
