T.O.P is opening up about why Nana was his first choice.
In a video released April 28th on his YouTube channel, Nana asked T.O.P directly why he cast her in his new music video. His answer? A very specific vision.
“Honestly, from the moment I first made ‘Studio54,’ I imagined a mysterious female character—you wouldn’t know what era she’s from,” he said. “I wanted someone with this unidentifiable, almost otherworldly presence.”
He elaborated further, adding, “It had to feel like she could be from space or from the past—something you couldn’t quite place. She needed that classic beauty, but at the same time, if a woman who looked really completely unhinged appeared, I thought that would be incredibly compelling. And in my eyes, you fit that best.”
Nana responded with a simple “Thank you,” while T.O.P returned the sentiment, creating a warm, easygoing moment between the two. Nana even playfully sang a line from the track on set, drawing a bright laugh from T.O.P and showing off their natural chemistry.
The resulting “Studio54” music video blends T.O.P’s signature mysterious, stylized visuals with Nana’s striking presence—earning a positive response from fans.
