Yoo Ah In is making his return to the big screen under a brand-new agency.

The actor has officially confirmed his casting in the upcoming film Vampir, according to an exclusive report by MyDaily on July 3rd.

The project is the latest work from director Jang Jae Hyun, a master of the K-occult genre who previously directed massive box office hits like The Priests, Svaha: The Sixth Finger and Exhuma. It follows the story of a vampire hunter, a priest and the various figures caught in their orbit. The narrative will center around five main Korean characters, while also featuring Russian actors in the cast. Yoo Ah In will take on the role of the vampire hunter, starring alongside Lee Sung Min as the priest, with the widely popular Yoon Kyung Ho joining them.

Final casting is currently underway for a handful of pivotal roles, including a young actress referred to as “Princess” and her bodyguard, alongside some high-impact special cameos. Production is moving quickly through investment and distribution decisions, with pre-production ramping up for a planned filming start as early as this October.

Ahead of his onscreen comeback, Yoo Ah In is also shaking up his management. He has left his long-time agency, UAA, to sign with Galaxy Corporation, joining a star-studded roster that includes G-Dragon, Taemin and Kim Jong Kook. He has also reunited with a trusted former manager to help guide this next phase of his career.

This return follows a lengthy legal battle over habitual drug use. Yoo Ah In was initially indicted for taking medical-grade propofol 181 times under the guise of cosmetic anesthesia between September 2020 and March 2022. He was also charged with illegally purchasing over 1,100 sleeping pills under other people’s names 44 times between May 2021 and August 2023, as well as smoking marijuana and instigating others to do so while in the United States in January 2024. In his first trial in September 2024, he was sentenced to one year in prison and taken into custody. However, during his second trial in February 2025, his sentence was reduced to one year in prison, suspended for two years, resulting in his release.
