So Ji Sub is giving fans a glimpse at the quieter side of his everyday life.
On July 1st, the actor appeared on Ha Ji Young’s YouTube channel to talk about his new SBS Friday-Saturday drama Agent Kim Reactivated and what his life looks like off camera.
Agent Kim Reactivated, which recently premiered, is an action drama about an ordinary family man who is pulled into a dangerous fight to protect his daughter. So stars as Kim, a single father raising his high school-age daughter, showing a different side of himself onscreen.
Speaking about taking on his first father role, So admitted that being called “Dad” felt the most unfamiliar. “The actress playing my daughter kept calling me Dad, and at first, I needed some time to get used to it,” he said.
In the drama, So shows a more down-to-earth side of his character, wearing an apron and preparing breakfast for his family. As it turns out, his real life is not all that different.
When Ha Ji Young asked if he does a lot of housework at home, So did not hesitate. “I do a lot,” he answered.
Ha then brought up a fun rumor that So was especially good at sorting recyclables during his public service days. The actor shared that he still does plenty around the house whenever he has time. He also said he is comfortable in the kitchen. Having lived alone for a long time, So explained that he can make basic dishes on his own, adding that he learns recipes by looking them up online and watching videos.
On days when he is not filming, So said he prefers a steady routine. He spends much of his day working out and likes to eat at home whenever possible.
Fans responded warmly to his low-key routine, with comments like, “I had no idea he was good at housework too,” “He really is a lot like his character in the drama,” “No wonder Cho Eun Jung fell for him,” and “He seems surprisingly practical.”
So married former announcer Cho Eun Jung in 2020. Since then, he has continued to balance his acting career with a simple, grounded life that fans have come to admire.
