Lee Min Ho may be headed back to television with a new romantic comedy.

On July 2nd, a broadcast industry insider said Lee is expected to star in the upcoming drama But Your Love (working title). The actor has reportedly been offered the lead role and is in the final stages of discussions. If confirmed, it would mark his first drama in about two years since tvN’s When the Stars Gossip, which ended in February last year.

Planned as a 12-episode series, But Your Love follows an office worker who discovers that a member of the virtual idol group helping her get through her exhausting daily life is actually her boss.

Lee has been offered the role of Cha Wook Hyun, the head director of a game company. On the surface, he seems like the perfect man, but at work, his cold and demanding personality has earned him a reputation as the worst boss in the office. After an unexpected turn of events leads him to debut as part of a virtual group, the drama will follow his chaotic double life with a comedic touch.

Lee is also gearing up for his return to the big screen with Assassins, which is set to hit theaters in September. The film centers on the 1974 assassination attempt on the first lady during a televised Liberation Day ceremony. Lee stars as a rookie reporter covering the scene, leading the story alongside Yoo Hae Jin and Park Hae Il.

As Lee lines up both film and television projects, attention is on what kind of transformation he will show next. But Your Love is expected to be directed by Jang Young Seok, who helmed SBS’ The Winning Try. The production team is currently casting its main and supporting roles, with filming aimed to begin later this year.
