Jeon Jong Seo is opening up about friendship, love, and her biggest career leap yet.
While promoting her new film Project Y, Jeon spoke warmly about co-starring with Han So Hee, calling the experience rare and deeply meaningful. “Working with another actress my age doesn’t happen often,” she said. “I kept thinking this might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Their bond started with Instagram DMs. “She was the first person who ever replied to my DM,” Jeon shared. “We started talking, met in person, and instantly clicked. As actors, there’s a lot we don’t even have to explain.”
Jeon described Han as “surprisingly laid-back and incredibly professional,” adding that the two leaned on each other during difficult shoots. “We suffered through the same tough conditions. She felt like my mirror. Having her there gave me so much strength.”
Asked about her relationship with her boyfriend and director Lee Chung Hyeon, Jeon laughed and said, “He’s very supportive of all my relationships.”
Jeon is also drawing attention for her role in the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster Highlander, a 165 million USD production directed by Chad Stahelski and starring Henry Cavill, Mark Ruffalo, and Russell Crowe. She revealed the role came after several close calls in Hollywood. “I sent audition tapes, had meetings, even met directors, but things didn’t work out,” she said. “Then ‘Highlander’ suddenly came along, and I thought, ‘This was meant to be mine.’”
Now splitting her time between Korea and the UK, Jeon added, “I met everyone at the full cast reading, and I’m the youngest one there. The director’s been incredibly kind, so I’m giving it everything.” With the John Wick team behind the action, she says the training is intense. “It’s brutal, but the system is solid. I’m pushing through.”
