
Jeon Jong Seo has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster remake Highlander, drawing worldwide attention from film fans.
The project is a large-scale production with an estimated $100 million budget and features an all-star ensemble including Henry Cavill, Mark Ruffalo, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Jeremy Irons. Directed by Chad Stahelski, best known for the John Wick franchise, the film is being produced under United Label, a studio affiliated with Amazon MGM Studios.
Jeon will play a member of The Watchers, a secret organization that monitors immortals.
Originally launched with the 1986 film of the same name, the Highlander series has built a loyal global following over decades. The upcoming remake has already become one of the most anticipated projects among long-time fans eager to see how the story will be reimagined.
Jeon Jong Seo first gained international recognition for her breakout performance in Lee Chang Dong’s Burning, which was invited to the Cannes Film Festival. She later starred in her Hollywood debut Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon and most recently appeared in Project Y, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. With Highlander, Jeon is set to expand her global footprint even further.
The Highlander reboot is slated to begin production in early 2026.
