BLACKPINK’s Lisa has made history at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), winning Best Pop for her single “Dream.”
Lisa accepted the award at the ceremony held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 27th (local time), becoming the second Asian artist to win Best Pop after BTS in 2020. She is also the first Asian and K-pop solo artist to take home the award.
“I sincerely thank everyone. I am deeply grateful to the staff who helped bring this song into the world, and to everyone who inspires me every moment.”

Lisa is the first Asian and K-pop solo artist to win “Best Pop” at the VMAs. BTS previously won the category in 2020.
She was also nominated in four categories this year: Best Pop, Best K-pop, Best Cinematography and Best Editing.
At the 2026 VMAs, BLACKPINK and BTS were nominated for Best Group, while KATSEYE received nominations for Best Group and Song of Summer for “Hootie Frutti.” BLACKPINK’s Jennie was nominated for Song of Summer for “Dracula,” a collaboration with Tame Impala.
