Cha Joo Young, best known for her role in the hit series The Glory, is facing backlash after posting photos on social media showing her riding in a car without a seatbelt.
The actress shared photos and videos on her Instagram account on May 27, captioning them with simple heart emojis.

The posts showed her enjoying a high-end omakase sushi dinner with drinks. However, clips taken after the meal sparked controversy, as she was filmed riding in the backseat of a moving vehicle without wearing a seatbelt.
While this might seem like a minor oversight to some, South Korea has strict traffic laws regarding passenger safety. Backseat seatbelts have been legally mandatory across the country, including Seoul, since September 2018.
Cha Joo Young’s casual disregard for the safety law quickly drew criticism online. Under South Korean law, failing to buckle up results in a fine for the driver, while adult passengers caught without a seatbelt face a fine of 30,000 won.
