Yoo Yeon Seok and Cha Joo Young are set to lead the new time-slip romance drama My Troika (literal title).

According to MyDaily on September 2nd, the two actors have been cast as the leads of the upcoming series, which follows a man living with guilt over his father’s death and a celebrated actress from the 1970s who suddenly finds herself transported 50 years into the future.

Yoo stars as Min Sa Jun, a former national fencing athlete who becomes the chief of a VIP protection team. He has lived a solitary, colorless life without allowing anyone to get close to him, until he unexpectedly finds himself drawn to one woman.

Cha plays Chun Ha Young, one of the biggest screen stars of the 1970s and a leading actress of the era’s “troika.” After arriving in Seoul 50 years later, she is forced to let go of the pride she once held as tightly as her own life.

Taking work as a stand-in, Ha Young begins discovering small pleasures and a sense of freedom she could never have imagined in her own time, while slowly learning how to trust people again.

My Troika centers on the romance that develops when two people trapped by very different eras meet across a 50-year divide — one imprisoned by guilt, and the other by the restrictions of her time.

Oh Hyun Jong, whose credits include Find Me in Your Memory, The One and Only and Doctor Slump, will direct, with Mr. Queen writer Choi Ah Il penning the series.
