Kwak Si Yang has surprised fans with news that he is getting married to former Lovelyz member Yoo Jiae. The couple is set to tie the knot in November.
Kwak Si Yang’s agency, Nine Ato Entertainment, confirmed the news, saying, “Kwak Si Yang will marry singer and Yoo Jiae in November. The two have built a strong relationship based on trust and love and have decided to spend their future together. The wedding will be held privately with their families, relatives, and close friends in attendance.”
Yoo Jiae’s agency, KPLUS, also confirmed the marriage, saying, “Yoo Jiae will marry actor Kwak Si Yang. Over the past year, the two have grown closer and built a strong relationship. They have decided to spend the rest of their lives together. We ask for your warm support and blessings as they begin this new chapter.”
Kwak Si Yang and Yoo Ji Ae have a six-year age gap. Their marriage announcement came as a surprise to fans, as the couple had never publicly been linked before. Kwak Si Yang’s past comments about marriage have also resurfaced following the news.
During his appearance on MBC’s Radio Star in January 2025, Kwak Si Yang spoke openly about wanting to get married. “I want to get married as soon as possible,” he said.
He explained that he had been focused on supporting his family. “I’ve paid off all the debts my family had. I’m the youngest, and my parents have been quite ill, so I’ve had to spend more than I expected on things like medical bills. I just want to show them that I’m living a happy life.”
Kwak Si Yang also opened up about his ideal relationship. He said, “When it comes to dating, I like to listen to my partner and let them take the lead.”
He added, “There aren’t many things I really want to do myself. I’d like to go to a baseball game, and someday, if I travel with my wife after we get married, I’d love to visit somewhere like the Camino de Santiago. Those are things that could be difficult if we’re not a good match.”
