Heo Nam Joon had a memorable moment at the 53rd Korea Broadcasting Prizes after winning the top acting prize for SBS drama My Royal Nemesis.
Taking the stage at the MBC Open Hall in Seoul on September 3rd, Heo began his speech by introducing himself to viewers.
“Hello, I’m actor Heo Nam Joon,” he said before bowing so deeply that he briefly disappeared from the camera frame, drawing laughter from the audience.
Once he was back on screen, Heo continued with a heartfelt acceptance speech.
“I was lucky enough to meet such a great project this year and receive more love than I deserved, so I’m just thrilled to receive an award this overwhelming as well,” he said.
Because the award was decided by viewer voting, Heo also made a point of thanking those who supported him.
“I heard this was decided through viewer votes, so I really want to thank all the viewers and fans who voted for me,” he said.
Heo went on to thank the staff and members of his agency by name before closing with, “Thank you. Please always stay healthy.”
Kim Hye Yoon won the female top acting award for her role as an MZ-generation gumiho in SBS drama No Tail to Tell. She was unable to attend the ceremony and delivered her acceptance speech via video.
Heo will next appear in tvN drama Whale Star, set to air in 2027, playing Song Hae Soo, an independence fighter willing to risk everything for his country.
