Heo Nam Jun is already thinking about his future — and it includes marriage and children.
During a recent appearance on the YouTube channel hosted by Ha Ji Young, the actor opened up about where he sees himself a decade from now.
“I want to have a happy family,” Heo said. “I’d like to get married sooner rather than later.” He added, “Of course, I know it would be really challenging, but I imagine myself having children and building that kind of life.”
When Ha expressed surprise at his answer, Heo laughed and replied, “I’m actually more family-oriented than people think.”
The actor has previously shown his softer side when talking about family. While accepting the Best New Actor award at the 2024 MBC Drama Awards, Heo gave a special shoutout to his loved ones, including a newborn addition to the family.
“I love my father, mother, my brother, and my niece who was born just a few days ago,” he said at the time.
Elsewhere in the interview, Heo joked about becoming known for his shirtless scenes on screen.
He revealed that a shirtless moment in SBS drama My Royal Nemesis wasn’t originally part of the script and was added later after similar scenes received a positive response in a previous project.
“Once you take your shirt off once, they just keep writing those scenes in,” he joked.
Asked what shirtless scenes mean to him, Heo drew laughs by replying, “Maybe they’re even more important than acting.”
The actor also spoke candidly about his appearance. When asked whether he considers himself handsome, Heo quickly answered, “Honestly, no.”
“I think a lot of people would agree with me,” he said, before pointing to actor Won Bin as someone who fits the traditional definition of handsome.
Still, he expressed confidence in his own appeal. “I don’t think I’m handsome, but I do think I have my own charm,” Heo said. “I like my jawline, and I like my eyes — especially when I’m acting.”
Heo is next set to appear on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block.
