Lee Chung Ah is reportedly discussing her potential departure from the upcoming drama An Obedient Killer (literal translation) after a recent traffic accident worsened her pre-existing back injury.

My Daily reported on September 18th that Lee Chung Ah was involved in a traffic accident last month while traveling to a filming location for the drama. The accident reportedly aggravated her existing back condition.

She returned to the set while receiving treatment and hoped to continue filming despite the pain. However, she was recently advised by medical professionals to limit her movement for more than a month. Since the drama includes action scenes, continuing to film in her condition could be difficult.

The production team initially postponed her scenes while waiting for her recovery. However, with her return to filming uncertain, they have reportedly begun discussing the possibility of her leaving the drama. The team is also reportedly searching for a replacement actress for her role as Lee Hwa Ra.

No final decision has been announced.

Lee Chung Ah previously injured her hip in a traffic accident last year, shortly before filming began for Honour. With production starting soon afterward, she was reportedly unable to receive proper treatment and continued filming while dealing with severe pain in her back and neck.

An Obedient Killer follows a sheltered woman whose only goal in life was to become a devoted wife and mother. When she is forced to find work and survive on her own, she enters a world far outside the sheltered life she once knew. Lee Chung Ah was set to play Lee Hwa Ra, also known by the codename “Miss Lee.”
