Sung Si Kyung recently shared an update on Cha Joo Young, who has temporarily paused her activities following surgery for recurring nosebleeds.
In a YouTube video released on March 18th, Ha Ji Won appeared as a guest and spoke about her ENA drama Climax‘s co-star. She described Cha Joo Young as someone who’s effortlessly funny, adding that while she often plays strong characters on screen, she is actually very warm and easygoing in real life.
Cha Joo Young had originally planned to join the episode but was unable to attend due to her health. Sung Si Kyung explained, “I asked her to join us, but she said she’s still not fully recovered. She’s been recovering from a major surgery that required general anesthesia.”
The actress took a break from her schedule in January due to ongoing nosebleeds. Her agency, Ghost Studio, said she underwent detailed medical tests and later had surgery following her doctor’s recommendation.
Even though she couldn’t take part in promotions, Climax still premiered on March 16th. The drama follows characters driven by ambition and desire, with Ha Ji Won playing a once-top actress on the decline and Cha Joo Young as a powerful hotel executive.
