Ha Ji Won has pulled off a major real estate success, reportedly earning a massive profit from the sale of her building in Seoul’s trendy Sungsu-dong.
In November, the actress sold the property for 18.5 billion KRW, a building she originally purchased in March 2020 for 10 billion KRW (approx. 6.8 million USD) under her agency, Haewadal Entertainment.
The building spans from one basement floor to eight floors above ground, sitting on a 257㎡ lot with a total floor area of 998㎡. It’s located just a five-minute walk from Exit 4 of Sungsu Station on Seoul Subway Line 2—a prime, fast-developing area.
When Ha Ji Won purchased it, the building was practically new, only three years post-construction. She invested roughly 3.1 billion KRW in cash including additional fees, and it’s estimated she took out about 7.5 billion KRW in loans.
After holding the property for five years and eight months, she earned approximately 8.5 billion KRW in capital gains. Even after accounting for taxes and expenses, industry estimates say she cleared around 7 billion KRW in net profit.
