A popular Busan cafe operated by the father of BTS member Jimin has announced plans to close in approximately one year, bringing renewed attention to past allegations of business disputes.
In a notice posted on its official Instagram account on November 2nd, ZM-illennial shared the message “D-365,” announcing that it had 365 days left before closing.
The cafe thanked visitors for their years of support, particularly fans who had traveled long distances to visit.
“Your visits, warm greetings and continued support have brought us so much happiness,” the cafe wrote, promising to continue welcoming guests with the same care and dedication until its final day.
It added that it hoped the remaining year would be more than a countdown to closure, but a chance to create more happy memories with visitors.
Originally opened in 2019 as MAGNATE, the cafe became a popular destination for BTS fans visiting Jimin’s hometown of Busan. It was renamed ZM-illennial in August 2024.
The cafe features BTS memorabilia, artwork dedicated to Jimin and gifts from fans, along with guestbooks where visitors can leave messages.
The closure announcement has also revived discussion of previous disputes surrounding the business. An overseas content creator earlier claimed that Jimin’s father had faced difficulties involving the landlord and a neighboring establishment, alleging that the nearby business used BTS-inspired purple decorations and merchandise that could lead visitors to believe the two stores were affiliated.
In June, the company holding the original MAGNATE trademark denied allegations that it had improperly taken ownership of the name.
The cafe has not disclosed the specific reason for its planned closure, and no direct connection between the earlier disputes and the decision has been established.
