Disney Plus has surprised fans by moving up the premiere of its upcoming Korean original series The Remarried Empress by one day.

The cast and director attended a press conference for the series at the Conrad Seoul hotel in Yeouido on November 3rd. The event brought together stars Shin Mina, Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Jong Suk and Lee Se Young, along with director Jo Soo Won.

Based on the popular web novel, The Remarried Empress centers on Navier (played by Shin Mina), the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire. Her life takes a turn when her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji Hoon), falls in love with Rashta (Lee Se Young), a runaway slave, and asks Navier for a divorce. Navier agrees but makes an unexpected demand of her own: she wants permission to marry Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk) of the Western Kingdom. The series follows the twists and turns of their royal romance and remarriage.

The series was originally scheduled to premiere on November 4th, but Disney Plus moved its release up to November 3rd, the same day as the press conference.

Director Jo Soo Won shared his excitement about the early release. He said he had already watched the series at the Busan International Film Festival and was especially curious about how audiences around the world would respond when it premiered globally. He added that knowing the series would be released on the day of the press conference made him even more nervous.

Lee Se Young also expressed excitement about meeting viewers a day earlier than expected. She said the earlier release made her even more nervous and that she was eager to see how audiences would react.

The Remarried Empress premiered on Disney Plus on November 3rd.
