Disney Plus’ The Remarried Empress has set a November 4th premiere date and unveiled its first teaser and character posters.
Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, the romance fantasy stars Shin Mina as Navier, the seemingly perfect empress of the Eastern Empire. Her marriage begins to unravel when her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (played by Ju Ji Hoon), falls for runaway slave Rashta (Lee Se Young) and asks Navier for a divorce.
Rather than fight the decision, Navier agrees — on one condition: she wants permission to remarry Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk), a prince of the Western Kingdom.
The live-action adaptation marks the first screen version of the popular IP, whose webtoon has amassed 2.97 billion views worldwide as of July 2026.
The newly released teaser opens on the sprawling Eastern Empire before introducing Navier seated regally as Sovieshu vows, “No matter what, you are my one and only wife.”
That promise begins to crumble with Rashta’s arrival. As Sovieshu grows increasingly drawn to her, Rashta eagerly embraces her newfound happiness while Navier watches their relationship unfold and struggles to keep her composure.
Heinrey’s arrival further complicates the growing imperial scandal. The prince comforts Navier and draws closer to her, provoking jealousy and anger from Sovieshu.
The conflict eventually reaches its breaking point when Sovieshu tells Navier he wants a divorce. But Navier refuses to be humiliated by the betrayal. Instead, she accepts his demand and delivers one of the story’s defining lines: “I request approval to remarry.”
The accompanying character posters spotlight each member of the central love quadrangle. Shin Mina’s Navier appears poised and commanding beneath the same declaration, while Ju Ji Hoon’s Sovieshu sits on the throne alongside the line, “I must divorce the empress.”
Lee Jong Suk’s Heinrey is shown preparing to kiss someone’s hand as he says, “It is an honor to meet you, my queen,” while Lee Se Young’s smiling Rashta declares, “Rashta is so happy these days!”
The Remarried Empress premieres November 4th exclusively on Disney Plus.
