Shin Mina is sharing her honest thoughts on marriage.
On June 19th, Shin appeared as a guest on Lee Young Ji’s YouTube show Nothing Much Prepared, where the two sat down for a candid conversation. During the episode, Shin offered Lee some advice on marriage.
Lee first congratulated Shin, who tied the knot last year, on her marriage.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about marriage lately,” Lee said. “Some people date for a long time and still don’t get married. Others date for a short time and end up getting married.”
She then asked Shin, “I’m curious when you know for sure, ‘I should marry this person.’”
The actress answered honestly, “I actually think the later you get married, the better,” adding, “That doesn’t mean you should date a lot of people. I mean that before marriage, you need enough time to really look into yourself.”
Shin continued, “Before getting married, it’s important to learn what kind of person you are and how you react in different kinds of relationships.”
Reflecting on the importance of having different experiences and taking time to understand yourself, Shin said, “Those experiences help you understand yourself better. Even if they’re not romantic relationships, you need time to look back on yourself through various experiences. There’s no need to rush marriage.”
She also offered advice on dating, saying, “If you feel physically unwell or overly drained after seeing someone, it could mean you were trying too hard in that relationship.”
Shin Mina began publicly dating Kim Woo Bin in 2015, and the couple tied the knot last year.
