Ju Ji Hoon’s new Disney+ series Climax is officially set to premiere on March 16th.
Disney+ confirmed the launch date for its upcoming thriller and released both a teaser poster and the first teaser. The series follows prosecutor Bang Tae Seob, who dives headfirst into a powerful cartel in his pursuit of the highest seat of power in the country.
Ju Ji Hoon takes center stage as Bang Tae Seob, a man driven by relentless ambition. The teaser poster captures him standing alone at the very top of a crimson-hued space, visually symbolizing both his ascent and the cracks forming beneath him. The image hints at a pivotal moment—a choice that risks everything for power.
In the teaser, Ju Ji Hoon delivers the line, “You have no idea what it took for me to get here,” revealing both the obsession and instability of a man who clawed his way from the bottom to the top.
Ha Ji Won appears as former top actress Chu Sang Ah, once at the peak herself. With the line, “I have no intention of stepping down,” she signals that she has no plans to be pushed out of the center of power, adding another layer to the story’s web of desire.
Nana transforms into Hwang Jung Won, Bang Tae Seob’s discreet ally and a key variable in the unfolding power struggle. Her restrained performance and striking presence suggest someone quietly capable of shaking the board.
Oh Jung Se plays Kwon Jong Wook, an ambitious chaebol heir entangled in greed and calculation. Meanwhile, Cha Joo Young steps in as Lee Yang Mi, the true power broker orchestrating it all. With a single line—”Everything starts here”—she exudes the authority of someone controlling the entire game.
The series is directed by Lee Ji Won, who won Best New Director at the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards, and written by Shin Ye Seul. Known for sharp psychological detail and stylish direction, Lee Ji Won brings a layered look at the ambition and collapse that come with standing at the summit of power.
Climax will premiere on March 16th and roll out new episodes every Monday and Tuesday exclusively on Disney+.
