Among major celebrities, a female celebrity made headlines for giving birth to a child at the age of 47, shocking fans across the globe. Believe it or not, there are a handful of moms who give birth to kids even after 40 years of age in Korea. Check out the list of super moms who work as celebrities but still manage to raise kids even at a late age.
Son Ye Jin

Son Ye Jin, one of Korea’s top actresses, married one of Korea’s top actors, Hyun Bin in 2022. Soon after, they gave birth to their child after Son Ye Jin had turned 40. The two generally keep photos of their son private and his life out of the public eye to protect his privacy. However, Son Ye Jin has shared small glimpses into her motherhood and even considered having a second child despite now being 44.
Lee Hanee

Lee Hanee, born in 1983, is another actress who has been a mother for quite some time. Raising two daughters, Lee Hanee welcomed her second daughter at the age of 42 on August 24, 2025, after giving birth to her first daughter in June 2022. She married her non-celebrity husband, a Korean American office worker, in December 2021, but continued her career in acting. She even attended a press conference for the Netflix series Aema just days before the birth of her second child.
Choi Ji Woo

Choi Ji Woo, popular in First Kiss and starring in Hitman 2, became pregnant in 2019 when she was 45 years old and gave birth to her first child, a girl, at 46 in 2020 during the pandemic. She welcomed her daughter two years after marriage and later described herself as an “icon of late-age childbirth,” as Han Da Gam did in recent news. Over the years, Choi has shared moments from her daily life with her now 5-year-old daughter and discussed the efforts of childcare at 50. She recently made a comeback in Sugar this January.
Lee Young Ae

The star of Lady Vengeance and Walking on Thin Ice, Lee Young Ae, is another older star who gave birth to twins in 2011 at the age of 41 through natural childbirth. She occasionally shares photos of her fraternal twins, son Jung Seung Kwon and daughter Jung Seung Bin, on Instagram, quoting how young they once were. As of 2026, they are 16 years old and in high school. Lee Young Ae’s daughter is studying vocal music and is rumored to be actively pursuing a career as a K-Pop idol.
Sung Yu Ri

The youthful-looking actress Sung Yu Ri, born in 1981 and known for her idol days in the K-pop group Fin.K.L, is also known for her late childbearing status. Now 45, the beloved star gave birth to twin daughters in 2022 when she was 41 years old. Like the other moms, she remains active in the industry with her last work being Camping Club, and continues to update fans with small snippets of her motherhood on SNS.
Hwang Bo Ra

Making her debut in 2003 as a quirky-looking “cup noodle girl” in a Korean ramyeon commercial, Hwang Bo Ra, born 1983, gave birth to a son in 2024 at the age of 41 after four IVF procedures (In vitro surgery). She shares parenting tips and her personal life while raising her son, Woo In, on her YouTube channel Hwang Bo Ra Boraiety and Instagram.
Han Da Gam

Han Da Gam, who was born in 1980, announced that she became the oldest mother in the entertainment industry through a social media post. On April 28th, she shared a handwritten letter on social media discussing how, after debuting in her 20s, she got married at 41 and pregnant at the age of 47. After successfully completing her performance for A Streetcar Named Desire last year, Han Da Gam went to the hospital in advance and meticulously prepared for her pregnancy. “As a result of my efforts, I thankfully succeeded in only one IVF.”
In the letter posted on social media announcing her child, Han Da Gam wrote, “I debuted in my 20s and was busy looking ahead. After I got married at the age of 41, in my sixth year of marriage, by the grace of heaven, I had a child. I still can’t believe it, but it’s true. I became the oldest mother in the entertainment industry! I am so grateful and want to let fans know about this wonderful moment, which is why I am posting it. Perhaps based on the cases so far, I am the oldest mother among actresses in the entertainment industry right now.”
