Lee Young Ae and Yoo Ji Tae are reuniting on screen for the first time in 25 years.
On March 23rd, production company I WILL MEDIA confirmed that the two stars will lead the upcoming drama Jae Yi’s Young In (literal title), marking their first project together since the 2001 film One Fine Spring Day.
The new series is a mystery romance that follows two people carrying similar emotional wounds as they learn how to live again together. As they fall in love, long-buried connections and hidden truths begin to surface, adding layers of tension and intrigue.
Lee Young Ae will play Joo Young In, an art teacher and painter living with the grief of losing her son. Unable to sleep, she spends her nights painting murals, enduring each day as she navigates both strength and fragility.
Yoo Ji Tae takes on the role of Shin Jae Yi, the head of an architecture firm. Though he appears bright and easygoing, he lives with dissociative amnesia, and as time passes, he is forced to confront buried truths that begin to unravel his sense of self.
At the heart of the drama is the emotional dynamic between the two characters—two wounded individuals colliding, facing the truth, and navigating the intensity of their feelings.
The project also brings together a notable creative team. Director Oh Ki Hwan, known for Art of Seduction, will helm the series, reuniting with Lee Young Ae for the first time since Last Present. The script is written by Jo Eun Jung, whose previous works include Hotel King and Feast of the Gods.
Production will be handled by I WILL MEDIA, the company behind titles such as The Haunted Palace, Moon in The Day and Witch at Court.
Jae Yi’s Young In is set to begin production this year and is currently in talks for broadcast scheduling.
