Yoon Sang‘s younger son is reportedly preparing to debut as an idol, following in the footsteps of his older brother, RIIZE member Anton.

The singer appeared on the September 10th broadcast of KBS’s Fun-Staurant, where he opened up about his two sons and reflected on Anton’s path into music.

While praising Son Tae Jin’s tteokgalbi, Yoon Sang joked that he wanted to bring his sons over to try it. The conversation soon turned to Anton, who is currently active as a member of RIIZE.

Asked about Anton’s decision to become an idol, Yoon Sang said even he had not known about it at first. He explained that Anton had spent 10 years swimming before the COVID-19 pandemic forced pools to close, prompting him to rethink what he wanted to pursue.

Yoon Sang said he ultimately supported Anton’s idol ambitions after hearing music demos he had made and realizing his son had a natural talent for music.

“There is a difference between simply making music and becoming an idol,” he said. “It’s still fascinating to see Chanyoung enjoying himself on stage. Dancing doesn’t exactly run in our family.”

He added that while he is proud of Anton’s success, watching his son grow up so quickly can be bittersweet as a parent.

Yoon Sang also said he hopes Anton will continue making music in the long run, adding with a smile that if he does, “music will carry on through the family.”

The episode also drew attention after it was revealed that Yoon Sang’s younger son is currently preparing for an idol debut of his own.
