Netflix has unveiled the teaser poster and trailer for upcoming comedy-action film Husbands in Action ahead of its June 19th release.
The film follows an ex-husband and new husband who reluctantly team up after their wife is kidnapped by a criminal organization, leading to a chaotic and unpredictable rescue mission.
The newly released teaser poster captures former husband Chung Sik, played by Jin Sun Kyu, and new husband Min Seok, played by Gong Myoung, standing back-to-back as they prepare to face off against unseen enemies.
The odd-couple pairing alone sets up plenty of laughs: Chung Sik is a narcotics detective, while Min Seok is a veterinarian — two men who seemingly have nothing in common except the woman at the center of the chaos.
The teaser expands on the action-packed setup, showing the two men bickering over seats at their daughter’s English speech contest before suddenly receiving news that Si Nae (Kang Hanna) and her daughter have been kidnapped.
The abduction turns out to be part of a revenge plot orchestrated by Hye Ran (Lee Da Hee), the strategist wife of a drug ring leader (Kim Ji Seok) arrested by Chung Sik.
Forced into an uneasy alliance, the ex-husband and new husband constantly clash while slowly finding their rhythm as a team. Their chaotic chemistry drives much of the film’s humor, while additional trouble arrives in the form of gang boss Yong Kang (Yoon Kyung Ho), who wants to reclaim his former glory, and reporter Ara (Jeon So Min).
The teaser’s tagline, “A chaotic match, a reckless mission,” hints at the film’s blend of over-the-top comedy and high-energy action.
Husbands in Action premieres June 19th exclusively on Netflix.
