Jun Ji Hyun has been revealed as the buyer of the penthouse that set a record for the highest individual transaction at 13 billion won (about $10.8 million) last year.
According to a report by JoongAng Ilbo on the 10th, Jun Ji Hyun and her husband jointly purchased the 47th floor of Acro Seoul Forest in Seongsu-dong 1-ga, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, for a reported 13 billion won on September 30th last year. Jun Ji Hyun holds a 12/13 share, while her husband owns the remaining share.
The report speculated that the purchase was made entirely in cash, as there was no mortgage loan, and Jun Ji Hyun has since changed her registered address to the new property.
Since her debut in 1997, the actress has not only risen to the top tier of stardom but has also demonstrated an exceptional sense for investing, becoming known as a big player in the real estate industry.
In 2021, she sold a building she had purchased for 8.6 billion won (about $7.18 million) in 2007 for 23 billion won (about $19.17 million), earning a staggering 14.4 billion won (about $12 million profit). Additionally, last year, she made headlines by acquiring a commercial building in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, for 50.5 billion won (about $42.12 million) from Kookmin Bank.
Jun Ji Hyun is known as a “real estate tycoon” for owning four properties in Seoul alone, including her residence in the IPark Samsung apartment complex in Gangnam-gu, a commercial building in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, and another in Samsung-dong, Gangnam-gu. Based on purchase prices, the value of the three commercial properties owned by her is estimated to be around 88.8 billion won (about $74.02 million).
