SBS’s Taxi Driver Season 2 is gaining significant attention after airing an episode about the Burning Sun scandal coinciding with Seungri’s release from prison. The series follows a mysterious cab company named Rainbow Taxi Company and its main driver, Kim Do Gi, who strives to restore justice by seeking revenge on those who got away with their heinous deeds.

Episodes 11 and 12 of Taxi Driver 2 showcased Black Sun, a notorious club known for its opulence, entertainment, and various criminal activities, serving as a reminder to viewers of the infamous Burning Sun scandal. The episodes focused on the key players involved in the scandal, including a member named Victor, whose name is similar in sound to the English translation of Seungri’s name, “Victory,” and Yin Samo, whose name sounds like VIP Madame Lin Samo, a figure in the scandal.

Kim Do Gi, played by Lee Je Hoon, infiltrates Black Sun and notices an underage customer entering the club. He reports the case to the police but is charged with business obstruction and sexual harassment, which further reminds viewers of the Burning Sun scandal. The show gained even more attention as Seungri was recently released from prison.

Episodes 7 and 8 dealt with a religious cult sect, which also went viral as they seemed to be based on true events depicted in the Netflix documentary, In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal, where various cult sects, including JMS, shocked viewers with their evil deeds.

Meanwhile, Taxi Driver 2 reached a new all-time high of 18.3 percent in viewership rating for its twelfth episode about the Burning Sun scandal.
