G-Dragon has sent fans into a frenzy with a simple social media interaction involving his rumored ex-girlfriend, BLACKPINK’s Jennie.
The official Golden Disc Awards account posted a highlight reel of Jennie’s performance from the 40th Golden Disc Awards on January 11th, held the previous day at the Taipei Dome in Taiwan. The clip featured her performing hits like “Filter,” “Damn Right,” and “Like Jennie,” showcasing her versatility and stage presence.
Shortly after the video was posted, eagle-eyed fans noticed that G-Dragon had ‘liked’ the post.
The interaction immediately drew attention because the two stars, formerly labelmates at YG Entertainment, were swept up in dating rumors in 2021 after Jennie was reportedly seen leaving G-Dragon’s home. At the time, YG Entertainment neither confirmed nor denied the relationship, stating, “It is difficult to confirm artists’ private lives.” Breakup rumors followed later, though they were also never officially addressed.
Seemingly aware of the sudden spotlight, G-Dragon later removed his ‘like’ from the video.
The moment was particularly notable as both artists won big at the ceremony. G-Dragon took home the Grand Prize in the Digital Song Division, while Jennie won the newly established Artist of the Year Grand Prize, cementing their status as top industry icons.
