The upcoming action-fantasy Twelve is already being hailed as this summer’s must-watch, and its newly released teaser—introducing Korean heroes powered by the twelve zodiac animals—has only added fuel to the hype.
Based on the Eastern zodiac concept, Twelve follows 12 angels living in human form to protect humanity as they battle against forces of evil in this fresh take on the superhero genre.
After sealing the gate to hell in an ancient battle—at the cost of four comrades and their own powers—the remaining eight angels retreat into quiet lives. That peace is shattered when Samin (Kim Chan Hyung) resurrects Ogwi (Park Hyung Sik), a terrifying force of destruction, declaring, “I will now turn this world into hell and transform all humans into evil spirits.”
Leading the celestial team is Taesan (Ma Dong Seok), a battle-worn guardian who swore never to get involved with the human world again. But with Ogwi’s return, he and his seven surviving comrades—Won Seung (Seo In Guk), Mir (Lee Joo Been), Donnie (Ko Kyu Pil), Kang Ji (Kang Mina), Jwidol (Sung Yu Been), Malsook (Ahn Ji Hye), and Bang Wool (Regina Lei)—must face their doubts, rediscover their powers, and rise again.
“We exist to help the human world,” says their guide Marok (Sung Dong Il), inspiring the angels to stand against evil once more.
The teaser mixes epic worldbuilding with humor and heart, teasing quirky powers, high-flying combat, and the emotional scars of lost comrades. Each angel channels traits of their zodiac animal—making for a colorful, action-driven ensemble.

Twelve premieres August 23rd on both Disney Plus and KBS as a weekend mini-series, targeting audiences both domestically and worldwide.
