Ready for ZAPZEE’s Insight? Various idols like RIIZE and SEVENTEEN have prepared comebacks for the month of May, and more of your favorites may just be on the list. Plus, new K-Dramas are set to release and star some of our beloved actors like Park Bo Young, Kang Ha Neul and more.
K-Pop Group Comebacks and Albums
Things will heat up early this Spring as boy groups are on the rise! Various concerts and world tours and starting as well.
TXT

TXT are the main highlight as the first group comeback with “Love” on May 2nd. TXT announced their World Tour after a two-month hiatus from all activities. ACT: PROMISE – EP. 2. starts off in Macau, then Osaka and Tokyo! You can visit TXT’s official website for details.
SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN will celebrate their 10th anniversary with a full studio album for CAROT on May 29th and be on tour as a full group! Members will begin military enlistments after their 2025 World Tour. Subunits like BSS (Seungkwan, DK, Hoshi) and a potential Hoshi x Woozi will see more attention.
RIIZE
RIIZE return with their first full-length album while promoting SMTOWN 2025 Live Tour. Fans felt SM abandoned RIIZE since they last promoted the RIIZING album a year ago, so their comeback is anticipated to be big despite lackluster rumors. They were last seen promoted at a pop-up!
The Rose

The Rose fans waited a year and a half for new EP WRLD, since they last performed at Coachella, and it is set to release on May 30th. The Rose made an official announcement and released the teaser photos on their official Instagram.
XG will promote their 6th Single “MILLION PLACES” for their first world tour. The first HOWL will conclude with a final show at Tokyo Dome on May 14, 2025. See more details on XG’s official website.
BOYNEXTDOOR
BOYNEXTDOOR planned a comeback with their 4th mini album titled No Genre on May 13th at 6 PM KST, but might have lingering backlash after “abandoning fans” at their Thailand concert caused controversy.
TWICE
TWICE prepared a comeback for Japan! The TWICE 5th BEST Album will release on May 14th. Although TWICE renewed their contracts issue-free in 2022, fans eagerly awaited TWICE since their last hits “ONE SPARK” and “You Get Me” from early 2024.
TripleS
TripleS will also grace the stage with “Stranger Things,” a title track name fans voted for, on May 12th. This comeback will feature the full lineup, and fans wonder how the entire concept will emerge and be executed.
K-Dramas
Tastefully Yours
Tastefully Yours could be the next big drama because of Kang Ha Neul’s appearance. Netflix continued its thread of success with When Life Gives You Tangerines, but this new cooking series could be their 2025 success story. Last seen in the 2023 hit Love Reset, Kang Ha Neul pairs up with Go Min Si in this comedic chef rivalry romance. Can it ride the wave of Korea’s successful cooking series, or will it fall flat?
Second Shot at Love
Second Shot at Love starring Girls’ Generation’s Choi Soo Young is one of tvN’s two series to release in May. Choi Soo Young plays a woman who considers herself to be a very sensible drinker and reunites with her first love, who hates alcohol and challenges herself to quit drinking.
Our Unwritten Seoul
Our Unwritten Seoul starring Park Bo Young. The weekend drama is another healing story similar to series like Mr. Plankton or Melo Movie. The emotionally driven romantic drama features twin sisters who are different in every way, except their faces, trying to find true love through a lie that changes their lives. Perhaps we are in need of more healing series? Netflix may falter with tvN’s two well-cast dramas on the rise.
Oh My Ghost Clients
Oh My Ghost Clients is also bringing back familiar faces and added something new to our list. Korea is dishing out various psycho thrillers and continues to delve into the paranormal. Eccentric attorney Noh Mu Jin (played by Jung Kyung Ho) will become our beloved supernatural detective in Oh My Ghost Clients- handling the mysterious and eerie stories of the dead. With such a stunning lineup, Jung Kyung Ho and Park Bo Young’s dramas will certainly be in the spotlight compared to Choi Soo Young’s simplistic storyline.
