Lee Da Hae revealed that her lavish Shanghai home is actually a rental, while also sharing the first ultrasound image of the baby girl she is expecting with husband Se7en.
Appearing on the September 14th episode of tvN STORY’s Why Save It, Lee opened up about her life in China, where she has built a successful career since My Girl became a hit. Before her pregnancy, she said she spent at least a third of each year in the country.
Lee drew attention last year when she showed off her luxurious Shanghai residence, which she decorated to suit her tastes. She has now revealed that the home, valued at around 5 billion won (approximately $3.7 million), is a rental.
“I can’t buy a home yet,” she explained, noting that both foreigners and Chinese residents from other cities must meet certain residency and tax requirements before purchasing property in Shanghai. “I’ll be able to buy a home sometime next year.”
Lee said she currently pays around 6 million won per month in rent. When Park Se Ri asked whether she regretted decorating a home she did not own, Lee explained that she spent very little on the interiors because she collaborated with a furniture manufacturer.
The revelation comes despite Lee and SE7EN reportedly owning three buildings in Seoul, including properties in Gangnam and Mapo, with a combined estimated value of around 32.5 billion won.
Lee also shared an ultrasound image of her daughter and joked that one feature already appears to resemble Se7en.
“She hasn’t really filled out yet, so it’s hard to tell with the other features, but a lot of people say her nose looks like her dad’s,” she said.
The couple have nicknamed their baby “Haevn,” combining a syllable from each of their names. Lee also recalled surprising Se7en with the pregnancy news at a restaurant, saying, “As soon as he saw it, he cried his eyes out.”
Lee Da Hae and SE7EN married in 2023 after dating for eight years. They are expecting their first child in December.
