Son Ye Jin is showing off her softer side as a doting mom on JTBC’s Chef & My Fridge.
In the episode airing on September 13th, Son Ye Jin will appear on the show and open up her refrigerator for the first time.
As soon as she arrived, Son Ye Jin couldn’t hide her excitement about appearing on a show she regularly watches. The cast also shared their memories of her iconic roles. Park Eun Young revealed that Son Ye Jin’s character in Summer Scent was her ideal type, while the MCs and chefs recalled some of her other memorable projects.
Son Ye Jin will also open up about her life as a mother. She married actor Hyun Bin in 2022, and the couple welcomed their son later that year.
She shared that her son loves role-playing and regularly puts on little skits at home, switching between different characters. The cast reportedly burst out laughing after seeing his acting skills, joking that he already puts on high-quality performances thanks to his mother, who has won the Best Actress award at three major awards ceremonies.
When asked how she would feel if her son decided to become an actor someday, Son Ye Jin proudly joked, “It would be hard for him not to be an actor if he looks like this.” She also revealed that he takes after either her or Hyun Bin, leaving the cast curious about which parent he resembles more.
The actress will also reveal a refrigerator stocked with her homemade dishes. Known for her cooking skills, Son Ye Jin will showcase meals she has often prepared since her newlywed days, including one of Hyun Bin’s favorite dishes.
The chefs were impressed by her homemade side dishes. Choi Hyun Seok was particularly surprised and asked, “Does anyone actually eat that at home?” Other chefs even lined up to sample Son Ye Jin’s cooking, creating a rare and entertaining moment on the show.
Son Ye Jin will also share her personal beauty and skincare tips, including some of her favorite ingredients. The chefs were so impressed that they pulled out their phones and placed a group order on the spot, prompting laughter. She also revealed a special ingredient that Hyun Bin particularly loves.
Son Ye Jin’s episode of Chef & My Fridge airs on JTBC on the 13th at 8:50 PM KST.
