Netflix’s The Scandal has unveiled its main poster and trailer, offering a closer look at the dangerous love bet at the center of the upcoming period drama.
Set in the Joseon era, the series follows Lady Cho (Son Ye Jin), a woman whose talents far exceed the restrictions placed on her by society; Jo Won (Ji Chang Wook), one of Joseon’s most notorious womanizers; and Hee Yeon (Nana), a woman who becomes entangled in the pair’s provocative wager.
The newly released poster brings the three characters together against the backdrop of Bukchon, where strict social rules collide with their very different desires. Lady Cho commands attention in a red garment, while Jo Won looks on with a gaze charged with desire and Hee Yeon appears subdued beneath her headwear.

The trailer opens with a letter from Lady Cho to Jo Won and quickly reveals the outrageous proposal that sets the story in motion. She asks him to impregnate So Ok (Shin Youn Ha), a young woman who is to become her husband’s concubine.
Jo Won counters with a challenge of his own, declaring that he would rather seduce the widowed Hee Yeon, setting their dangerous wager in motion.
As Jo Won continues pursuing Hee Yeon despite her attempts to push him away, Lady Cho watches their relationship develop from the sidelines. What begins as a game soon takes a darker turn.
The trailer later shows Hee Yeon pleading that she wants to live, while Lady Cho urges Jo Won to stop. Jo Won, meanwhile, tells her that everything that has happened is because of her, hinting that the wager has spiraled far beyond what either of them intended.
Directed by Jung Ji Woo, The Scandal reimagines a classic story through a modern lens, centering on desire, power and the shifting relationship between its three leads.
The Scandal premieres exclusively on Netflix on September 18th.
