BIGBANG member Daesung has seen the value of his luxury apartment in Seoul’s Heukseok district rise to nearly seven times what he paid for it more than a decade ago.
Daesung bought a 275-square-meter (about 2,960-square-foot) unit at Heukseok Mark Hills in the summer of 2015 for 1.4 billion won (about $1 million at the time), according to a September 3rd video from the YouTube channel wander planet. The luxury complex has only 18 units in one building. Each unit has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, as well as a panoramic view of the Han River.
The apartment is now estimated to be worth around 10 billion won ($7.7 million).
Heukseok Mark Hills is also a popular spot for watching the annual Seoul International Fireworks Festival because of its views of the Han River. Celebrity couple Jang Dong Gun and Ko So Young once lived there as newlyweds. Hyun Bin also reportedly lived there for 11 years.
Daesung has several famous neighbors. Former national figure skater Kim Yuna and her husband, Ko Woo Rim, live next door. Singer and actress Krystal lives on the floor below him.
Daesung also owns a building in Seoul’s Cheongdam-dong neighborhood. He bought it in 2017 for 30 billion won ($22 million), and it is now reportedly worth more than 90 billion won ($67 million).
Together, his apartment and building are now worth more than 100 billion won ($75 million), making Daesung one of the entertainment industry’s notable real estate investors.
Meanwhile, BIGBANG debuted as a five-member group in May 2006 and later became a trio after several members left amid various controversies. The remaining members left YG Entertainment after their contracts ended between 2022 and 2023 and are now with different agencies. Taeyang is with THEBLACKLABEL, Daesung is with RND Company and G-Dragon is with Galaxy Corporation.
