As allegations surrounding Hwang Jung Min’s private life continue to spread, it has been revealed that the woman who made the claims contacted not only domestic and international partners of the film Hope but also Hwang Jung Min’s son, who was a minor at the time.
According to the film industry on July 29th, the woman reportedly sent an email earlier this year to NEON, the North American distributor of Hope, outlining allegations involving Hwang Jung Min. The claims were said to be similar to those she later shared on social media.
NEON reportedly requested clarification from the Hope production team, which then checked the details with Hwang Jung Min’s side. The production team informed NEON that the actor had previously taken legal action against the woman over alleged stalking, and that the court had issued protective measures, including a restraining order, along with a fine.
Earlier that day, Hope’s investment and distribution company Plus M Entertainment and production company Forged Film released a statement saying, “Hwang Jung Min was a victim of stalking, and the matter has already gone through legal proceedings.” They added that the woman had been sending emails containing “maliciously edited content” to the companies and Hope’s partners while repeatedly posting and deleting content targeting the actor and the film online, causing disruptions to their work.
The woman also reportedly sent an email to Forged Film last August with the subject line, “Request for Verification and Action Regarding Alleged Long-Term Harm Involving Hope’s Lead Actor.”
In materials provided to Ilgan Sports, she claimed that she and Hwang Jung Min had run a private blog together and alleged that 10 out of more than 100 posts she had written — including two short stories submitted to a literary contest — were leaked. She claimed she attempted to determine how the content was leaked through Hwang Jung Min and his agency but was ignored and cut off, resulting in emotional and professional damages.
She also confirmed that she sent a direct message to Hwang Jung Min’s son, who was born in 2006 and was a minor at the time. She denied that the message was intended as a threat or an attempt to expose him, saying she only wanted to have the information delivered after all official communication channels with the agency had been blocked.
Her claims were also discussed on JTBC’s Crime Chief on July 29th. She alleged that she first met Hwang Jung Min at a screening event for the film Smugglers in July 2023 and exchanged contact information with him. She claimed they later met at a bar in Seoul in August and again at Incheon International Airport in September before his overseas schedule.

She further claimed that Hwang Jung Min suggested launching a liquor-related business together. According to her account, they remained in contact until the end of 2024 and met a total of four times, but she stated that “there was no sexual relationship.”
Hwang Jung Min’s agency, Sem Company, has denied the allegations and described the woman as someone who has repeatedly engaged in stalking behavior. The agency stated that the court recognized the stalking allegations, issued three protective measures including a restraining order, and imposed a summary fine of 3 million won ($2,200). The agency also announced plans to pursue additional legal action regarding what it called maliciously edited posts.
The woman responded by saying she is preparing an official statement with her lawyer.
