Namkoong Min and model Jin Areum have welcomed their first child, a son.
Namkoong Min’s agency confirmed the news to Sports Kyunghyang on July 26th, saying, “Namkoong Min and Jin Areum have welcomed a baby boy. Please send them your congratulations.”
The couple, who have an 11-year age difference, got married in a private ceremony in October 2022 after dating for seven years. At the wedding, a proposal video showing Namkoong Min proposing to Jin Areum with a ring drew attention.
Since their marriage, the couple has enjoyed a happy relationship away from the public eye. Jin Areum has shared glimpses of their married life on social media, including photos of meals she prepared and moments from their dates. Namkoong Min has also continued his successful acting career with the support of his wife.
The couple announced their pregnancy in June. At the time, reports said Jin Areum was in the final stages of pregnancy and close to giving birth. Rumors that they were preparing baby items for a boy also suggested they were expecting a son.
