EXID member and actress Hani, professionally known as Hani, made her first public appearance since postponing her wedding to her fiancé, psychiatrist Yang Jae Woong.
Hani attended a press conference for the upcoming KBS 2TV weekend drama Love On The Menu at The Saint in Seoul. She was joined by castmates Ha Seok Jin, Park You Na, Bae Jung Nam, Kwon Hae Hyo, Yun Yu Sun, Ryu Seung Soo, and Jin Kyung, alongside director Hong Seok Gu.
Love On The Menu centers on Kim Moo Jin (played by Ha Seok Jin) and Han Gyu Rim (Hani), who help piece together a broken family over warm, homemade meals. Hani plays Han Gyu Rim, a spirited side-dish shop employee who tackles life’s hardships with unwavering resilience.
The show marks Hani’s return to the small screen following a three-year hiatus. Her hiatus was prolonged after a tragic incident at the hospital managed by her fiancé, where a patient in her 30s passed away. The facility subsequently closed, and the couple put their wedding plans on hold indefinitely.
Addressing the situation during the press event, Hani expressed regret for bringing personal matters into the spotlight.
“First and foremost, I apologize for causing concern due to my personal affairs. I feel terrible discussing private issues at an event like this,” Hani said. “So many people have poured their hearts into Love On The Menu, and my biggest priority is ensuring their hard work isn’t overshadowed. I ask for your understanding regarding details I cannot discuss further.”
She added, “It has certainly been a heavy burden, but it is one I must bear, and I am working hard to carry it. I am truly grateful for the chance to connect with viewers through a weekend drama again. Through Gyu Rim, I hope to deliver comfort, hope, and love to everyone watching.”
Love On The Menu is scheduled to premiere on July 25th.
