Hani is officially making her drama comeback.

According to industry sources on January 8th, Hani has been confirmed as the female lead of Love Is Coming (literal title), a new weekend drama set to air on KBS this August.

In the series, Hani plays Han Gyu Rim, the warm-hearted owner of a neighborhood side-dish shop. Known since childhood by the nickname “Captain Han,” she’s the type who shows up whenever someone’s in trouble—dropping everything to help make bad situations a little less painful, and celebrating others’ good news as if it were her own. An unapologetic meddler with a soft heart, Gyu Rim wears her emotions on her sleeve and can’t hide how she feels.

Love Is Coming centers on a family that feels impossible to live with—but even harder to live without. They fight every morning, reunite every night, trade harsh words while secretly worrying about one another, and erupt into all-out war the moment one of them is hurt by the outside world. The drama is written by Lee Kyung Hee, known for I’m Sorry, I Love You and Uncontrollably Fond, and directed by Hong Seok Goo.

The project marks Hani’s first drama role in three years, following her 2023 Disney+ series Call It Love. It’s also her first appearance in a terrestrial network drama in six years since MBC’s XX in 2020—and notably, her first-ever KBS drama.

Love Is Coming is scheduled to premiere this August, following the conclusion of KBS’s upcoming weekend series Recipe For Love.
