Wild Sing is going global.
Netflix has set a July 31st worldwide release for the Korean comedy, bringing fictional music acts Triangle and Choi Sung Gon to audiences around the world.
Wild Sing follows Triangle, a three-member coed dance group that once ruled the music scene before an unexpected scandal led to their overnight breakup. Twenty years later, the trio jumps at a shot at a comeback and takes on one reckless challenge after another.
The film teams Extreme Job production company About Film with Secret Zoo director Son Jae Gon. Its fast-paced comedy, colorful characters and music-driven performances earned praise from Korean moviegoers.
Gang Dong Won, Um Tae Goo and Park Ji Hyun transform into members of the Y2K-era dance group Triangle, while Oh Jung Se plays Sung Gon, a once-beloved ballad prince.
Triangle’s debut track “Love Is” and Choi Sung Gon’s “I Like You,” created with a team of K-pop producers, also made waves beyond the film, climbing music charts and sparking viral challenges.
With its nostalgic early K-pop soundtrack, Y2K styling and chaotic chemistry, Wild Sing will now bring its comedy to a global audience. Netflix will offer subtitles in 32 languages, including French, Portuguese and Chinese, along with dubbing in 15 languages including English, Spanish and Japanese.
“We want to take the momentum the film built in Korean theaters and expand it to the global market through Netflix,” Lotte Entertainment said. “We hope this becomes an opportunity for Korean comedy films to build a global fandom beyond cultural barriers.”
Wild Sing premieres worldwide on Netflix July 31st.
