Jang Dong Joo has updated fans on his health after concerns over his retirement and a recent social media post.
On June 6th, he went live on his personal account and talked directly with fans.
Fans were especially focused on his hand. Last month, he posted, “I cut my innocent little finger,” with a video that looked like a self-inflicted injury. The post quickly went viral, raising concern among fans.
The post and his account were later deleted, but speculation continued online since no clear confirmation of the incident was provided.
During the recent livestream, however, Jang appeared with both hands visibly intact, showing no signs of injury. Fans expressed relief, while others questioned the authenticity of the previous post.
Earlier, in October, he also worried fans by posting “I am sorry” and going offline for several hours. In January, he claimed his phone had been hacked, resulting in financial losses reportedly worth billions of won.
More recently, he made headlines again after suddenly announcing his retirement from acting, citing a desire to step away from the industry and expressing regret over past actions. His agency later stated that the decision appeared to be made unilaterally.
Born in 1994, Jang Dong Joo made his acting debut in 2017 with KBS2’s School 2017. He has since appeared in Netflix’s Trigger and SBS’s My Man is a Human.
