As Boyfriend on Demand gears up for its March 6 release on Netflix, a playful behind-the-scenes comment by Jisoo has unexpectedly ignited debate among fans.
In the series, Jisoo plays an overworked artist who escapes reality through an app filled with AI-generated boyfriends.
During promotions, co-star Seo In Guk shared that Jisoo frequently joked about artificial intelligence on set, reportedly saying, “How dare AI catch up to humans?” and adding “Stupid AI” in a playful tone.
Seo Inguk reveals JISOO constantly complained about AI during filming:

While many fans found her remarks amusing, especially given the show’s AI-centric premise, others criticized her comments as hypocritical.
Some pointed to her past projects, including the AI-featured “Eyes Closed” music video with ZAYN and BLACKPINK’s “GO,” which credited AI-powered VFX work.
She’s so performative, help. She did a whole AI ad and MV recently, the irony. https://t.co/u3PYRtxU6g pic.twitter.com/agbg2vnbV0

Supporters, however, argue that Jisoo’s comments were aimed at concerns over fake AI-generated images rather than the broader use of AI technology in creative production. The moment has since fueled ongoing conversations within K-pop fandoms about the ethical boundaries of AI in entertainment.
when jisoo talks about AI she refers to the fact that they create fake images or videos, and not about asking for some information, even because we agree that an AI will never produce works of art like human beings https://t.co/R7BGMYch3q

Honestly this is the most relatable reaction 😭
Humans spend years mastering something and then AI shows up like ‘I learned it overnight.’ The frustration is real.

Haha, JISOO’s frustration is so relatable! 😅 Even stars get annoyed when tech tries to outsmart humans classic “stubborn AI” moment. pic.twitter.com/3IF3gVUJIg
